Nikka K-V Sprayer
The NIKKA K-V Sprayer is described as “the ultimate powder spraying system,” specifically designed to address the common industry challenges of unexpected powder dropping and environmental contamination. Developed by Nikka Limited, it represents an evolution of their corona discharge technology to provide cleaner and more efficient film coating.
Key Features & Design
The K-V Sprayer utilizes a specialized triple-roller construction to control powder application precisely:
- Triple-Roller System: The design includes a Hopper for powder storage, a Spray Roller for dispensing, and a unique Anti-scattering Roller.
- Precision Coating: A Doctor Blade applies pressure to the spray roller surface to ensure a uniform powder coating.
- Corona Discharge Technology: Uses a Discharge Cable to generate a corona discharge that separates and disperses powder from the roller surface onto the web (film).
- Digital Control: Features a Touch Panel operation panel for integrated control and a High Tension Monitoring System to track electrical currents.
- Safety Sensors: Includes a Tension Detector that sounds an alarm if the discharge cable becomes loose or is cut.
Operational Efficiency
The K-V Sprayer is engineered for high-speed performance and minimal maintenance:
- Enhanced Adhesion: By limiting the spraying space to a 2mm gap between the anti-scattering roller and the web, the system dramatically increases powder adhesion.
- High-Speed Performance: The true value of the system becomes more apparent as line speeds increase.
- Visual Cleanliness: Powder dust in the air is “almost impossible to detect” by visual inspection during operation.
- Adjustable Volume: Powder volume can be controlled in 1% increments via the touch panel and can reach capacities twice that of the previous K-III model.
- Easy Maintenance: The system retains the same fundamental spraying principles as previous models, ensuring maintenance remains simple for operators.
Cost Benefits
The system provides several economic and quality-related advantages for manufacturing facilities:
- Reduced Material Waste: There is a “sharp reduction” in the consumption of powder due to more efficient adhesion.
- Lower Cleaning Costs: Minimized powder dust and contamination lead to “less cleaning requirements” for the factory environment.
- Improved Product Quality: The elimination of unexpected powder dropping and contamination leads to an overall increase in product quality.
- Factory Environment: Contributes to factory environment improvement by keeping the air clear of powder dust.
